Computer Forensics

Our work in computer forensics is extremely varied. Many different types of cases may require computer data investigations as part of the investigative processes.

Our computer forensic work falls into three main categories:-

  • Safeguarding IT evidence and ensuring that this evidence remains “clean” and admissible in court proceedings. We are trained in the use of Encase software so as to obtain secure mirror images of the contents of hard-drives.

  • We are used to using data mining techniques, which become essential where there is a major investigation involving many suspects based in a variety of locations. We are also trained in the use of i2 software and can produce complex relationship charts based on masses of data.

  • We are used to examining financial records held within a variety of financial/accounting software packages and then using this information to identify false or suspicious accounting entries
